TRACK
TRACK, a contemporary city conversation Track is a temporary exhibition of 30 international artists on different public locations in Gent. A successor to Chambre d’Amis and Over The Edges. It is a dialogue between artists, inhabitants and visitors. It expands the centre of the city towards its edges but without boundaries. Art has no boundaries. Gonzales was selected to take care of the communication for the exhibition. The communication however essential can never pretend to be a work of art itself. It is used to show the way rather than to define it. One might look at it as non-design with a clear idea. Subordinate to the work of the artists but nevertheless present and constantly evolving.

MTV’s Jersey Shore is the most popular MTV series ever. For the new season Gonzales decided to show that the success of the stars of the show was always meant to be. From the cradle they knew that cursing, tanning, styling their hair and creating monstrous abs would lead them to their 15 minutes of fame, that have been going on for three seasons now. A politically incorrect spoof on the youtube mania of parents showing what their kids can do. We’re going to the Jersey Shore, bitch. And it looks like we’re going to stay there for a while.

Niko is a Belgian company mostly known for their high quality light switches. They do have other state-of-the-art lighting products, but they are less known to the public. Niko wanted to start a b-to-b communication program for the lighting product under new separate name and logo . gonzales developped ‘Bright’. ‘Bright’ bridges nicely to light products and links to niko’s company promise ‘illuminating ideas’. It was designed within the boundaries of the niko house style but its own character. ‘Bright’ was launched july 2011.

EWI: scheuren, krassen, plooien, draaien, lezen, opstaan en weer doorgaan. Het departement Economie, Wetenschappen en Innovatie van de Vlaamse Overheid, kortom EWI Vlaanderen, vroeg Gonzales om een uitnodiging voor hun jaarverslag 2010 te maken. Gonzales antwoordde dat hij dat wel wou doen. De uitnodiging is een creatieven interpretatie van onderzoek, omgaan met kennis, cijfermateriaal, enz. Het ontwerp nodigt uit om de inhoud ervan te achterhalen door (inter)actief om te gaan met de tekst Scheuren, krassen en plooien maakt de tekst leesbaar. De tekst is een soort écriture automatique voortvloeiend uit het jaarverslag.

Sensoa Dicht bij mijn bed show
Seks van Afrika tot in Amerika. De seksuele beleving bij jongeren in de ontwikkelingslanden is voor de jeugd van bij ons een ver-van-hun-bed-show. Samen met Sensoa ontwikkelde Gonzales daarom een interessant online schoolproject om taboes en problematieken rond sex in het zuiden duidelijk te maken. De Dicht-Bij-Mijn-Bed-Show is een ludieke kwis voor het lager secundair onderwijs die deze problematieken verduidelijkt. Aan de hand van 15 stellingen in 15 landen komen jij en je klas heel wat te weten over de verschillen tussen hier en ginder. De mogelijke, en vaak op het eerste zicht onwaarschijnlijke, antwoorden worden daarna klassikaal besproken. JimTV-gezicht Sean Dhondt werd gevraagd om het geheel te presenteren. Gonzales verzorgde het concept, de regie, animatie, programmering, vormgeving en de scripting.

Vitrine is an open air fashion exhibition in Antwerp. Gonzales made an installation for Cafe Costume with four election posters that asked people to Vote Sheep. Sheep are of course the main supplier of wool and essential for every great suit. Therefore they cannot be glorified enough. The installation was planted in front of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts during the election for the Belgian national government. It posed the public a dilemma: choose for a Belgian politician or a sheep? We know now that the latter of the two would have been the better one.

Asieldieren.be Asieldieren verdienen een 2de kans! Opzet: Asieldieren.be, een initiatief van Gonzales zelf, is een overkoepelende asielwebsite waarop alle Belgische asielen gratis hun dieren online mogen promoten. Op deze manier wilden wij onze bijdragen leveren naar de oplossing rond de asieldierproblematiek. De website, die gelanceerd werd in 2006, werd volledig intern bedacht en uitgewerkt, van de eerste stappen in het concept tot de opvolging na de lancering. Uitdaging: De grote uitdaging was om aan de ene kant een site te maken die het grote publiek kon aanspreken zowel op designvlak als gebruiksvriendelijkheid. En aan de andere kant was het belangrijk dat alle asielen op een eenvoudige manier hun dieren online konden brengen. De beoogde doelgroep was zeer divers, van computerleken tot gevorderde gebruikers.
